Products & Contents

Both kits are built for worksites but are designed for different use cases:

  • Classic Kit ($169): Larger kit (200x180x130mm, 1.15kg) with more comprehensive contents including a snake bite bandage, emergency blanket, fever scan strip, eye cup, bottle opener, shaver, and pencil & notepad. Ideal for equipping a ute, workshop, or site setup as your main first aid kit. Built-in mounting options.
  • Compact Kit ($85): Smaller kit (180x130x80mm, 0.47kg) designed to clip to a tool belt, sit in a glovebox, or go into a toolbag. Perfect for individual tradies who want something lightweight they can carry onto site.

Both kits are ARTG-registered medical devices built from 5mm rip-stop weatherproof material with heavy-duty zips.

The expiry date on your kit's tag reflects the shortest expiry of any component inside the kit. Individual component shelf lives are:

  • Combine dressing: 3 years
  • Conforming bandage: 5 years
  • Adhesive dressings / bandaids: 3 years
  • Eye pads: 3 years
  • Hydrogel dressing: 5 years
  • Cotton gauze swabs: 3 years
  • Non-adherent wound dressings: 3 years
  • Saline eyewash: 3 years
  • Wound closures: 3 years
  • Skin cleaning wipes: 3 years
  • Splinter probes: 3 years

When components expire, use our Refill Kit to restock without replacing the whole bag.

Safe Work Australia specifically states that analgesics like paracetamol and aspirin should not be included in workplace first aid kits. The reasons are:

  • They can cause adverse health effects in some people, including pregnant women and people with asthma
  • Their supply may be controlled by drugs and poisons laws
  • Workers with personal medication needs should carry their own supply

This isn't a gap in our kits — it's a deliberate WHS compliance decision. All Trade Aid Kits meet Safe Work Australia's guidelines for workplace first aid.

Yes. Trade Aid Kits are ARTG-registered medical devices — registered on the Australian Register of Therapeutic Goods. This means the kit and its contents meet the regulatory standards set by the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) for medical devices in Australia.

This is an important distinction from generic first aid kits sold in supermarkets or hardware stores that may not carry this registration.

Yes — Trade Aid Kits are specifically designed for harsh worksite environments, not office settings. Key construction features include:

  • 5mm rip-stop outer material — handles dust, dirt, and tough conditions
  • Heavy-duty thick-tooth zips — built to perform in dusty and wet environments
  • Weatherproof seals — keeps contents dry and protected
  • Clearly labelled compartments — find what you need fast in an emergency
  • Carabiner clip — attaches to tool belts, scaffolding, or bags

Yes. Our Complete Kit Refill ($69) restocks all the commonly used items so you don't need to replace the whole kit. It covers all the essentials most likely to be used on a worksite — bandaids, wound dressings, gauze, bandages, gloves, and more.

You can also contact us at enquiries@tradeaidkits.com.au to set up an annual restock arrangement for your business.

Returns & Refunds

We offer a 30-day return and exchange policy from the date you receive your order. To be eligible:

  • Goods must be unopened, unused, and undamaged
  • Proof of purchase must be provided
  • Return must be initiated within 30 days of receiving the item

If a product arrives damaged or faulty, we offer a 100% refund with no return required in most cases.

To start a return, email enquiries@tradeaidkits.com.au with the subject line "Returns" and include:

  • Your order number
  • Your name
  • The reason for return

We'll reply with return instructions. We strongly recommend getting proof of postage when sending goods back to avoid lost parcel disputes. Please note customers are responsible for return shipping costs unless the item is faulty or damaged.

Once your returned item is received and inspected, you'll receive a confirmation email about your refund status. If approved, the refund is applied to your original payment method — credit card, Afterpay, or Zip — shortly after approval. Processing times vary by payment method but are typically 3–7 business days.

WHS Compliance

Safe Work Australia states that all workers must be able to access a first aid kit containing equipment to treat:

  • Cuts, scratches, punctures, grazes, and splinters
  • Muscular sprains and strains
  • Minor burns
  • Amputations and/or major bleeding wounds
  • Broken bones
  • Eye injuries
  • Shock

Both the Trade Aid Classic Kit and Compact Kit are stocked to meet these requirements. However, Safe Work Australia also notes that you should consider whether additional items are needed for specific hazards at your workplace — for example, a remote mining site may need additional wound management supplies.

The number of kits required depends on the size of your workforce, the nature of the work, and how spread out your workers are. Safe Work Australia's general guidance:

  • Low-risk workplaces (e.g. small office): 1 kit per 50 workers
  • High-risk workplaces (e.g. construction, mining): 1 kit per 10–25 workers, with kits accessible throughout the site
  • Mobile workers / fleet vehicles: 1 kit per vehicle

Our bulk buy discounts automatically apply at checkout when you order 3 or more kits — making it cost-effective to equip your whole fleet or crew.

Yes — if your workers travel to different sites in separate vehicles, Safe Work Australia's guidance is that each vehicle should carry a first aid kit. Workers need to be able to access first aid regardless of where they are when an incident occurs.

The Trade Aid Compact Kit is ideal for utes, vans, and work vehicles — it fits in a glovebox, centre console, or toolbag, and clips to almost anything with its carabiner. At $85 per kit with bulk discounts available, it's a practical and cost-effective solution for fleet operators.

Safe Work Australia recommends that first aid kits are checked regularly — at least every 12 months, or more frequently if the kit is used often. You should check for:

  • Items that have been used and not replaced
  • Items approaching or past their expiry date
  • Damaged or deteriorated packaging

Our Complete Kit Refill ($69) makes it easy to restock without replacing the bag. Contact us at enquiries@tradeaidkits.com.au to set up an annual restock arrangement.

About Trade Aid Kits

Yes. Trade Aid Kits is a proudly Australian business based in Perth, Western Australia. We were built specifically for the Australian construction, trade, and industrial workforce — not adapted from a generic overseas product.

Yes. Trade Aid Kits donates $3.90 to Lifeline Australia for every kit sold. With every 10 kits, we contribute $39 — the average cost of a Lifeline support call.

We support Lifeline because the construction and trade industry has disproportionately high rates of mental health challenges. Looking after workers means more than physical safety.

If you or someone you know needs support, Lifeline is available 24/7 on 13 11 14. Learn more on our Supporting Lifeline page.

Trade Aid Kits are currently available in store at:
